The Artist Lounge, a safe space for creatives

img_4324.jpg

Launched in February 2015, the Artist Lounge was initially started by myself and Johnetta "Awthentik Poetry" Anderson to showcase the talents of musicians, emcees, singers, poets and visual artists. We started the tour in the Pilsen art district as an open mic that typically highlighted a painter or photographer and a featured performer to complement the open mic portions of the show. Most recently, we've added live painting, jewelry making and space for small businesses to vend products in what has become a full-on artistic experience.https://vimeo.com/274102466The movement continues at the historic South Side Community Art Center in Bronzeville. We hope you'll join us Friday, May 5th, 2017.
