Psychologist and author Dr. Obari Cartman joins Dometi to mark the contributions of activist Afeni Shakur. Beyond being the mother of the most influential rapper to walk the earth (this isn't up for debate), Tupac's mom has a storied legacy as one of the Panther 21.
Cartman talks about the work he's done with her husband, Tupac's stepdad, Mutulu Shakur. They also discuss the outrage concerning Larry Wilmore's use of the n-word as well as Beyonce's Lemonade and the protests it inspired in Chicago. Beyond that, Lemonade led them to a discussion on masculinity, vulnerability, and the reasons why the two aren't mutually exclusive.
