Thursday, I'll be a part of discussion on the role millennials play in the political process. The Illinois Campaign for Political Reform's 2nd annual Summit for Action and Civic Reform kicks off at 10am.
The panel I'm moderating hones in on how to engage voters aged 18-34. Voters on both sides of the aisle are less than enthused about the names on the ballot and have become more cynical about the political process in general - arguably for good reason. We hope to unpack that and analyze other leanings of the youngest generation to enter the political process at Columbia College, Thursday (9/15) at 11:30am.
Panelists:
- Emile Cambry, Founder & CEO Blue 1647
- Manolia Charlotin, Director of Programs, The Media Consortium
- Shawn Healy, PhD, Civic Learning Scholar, McCormick Foundation
- Michelle Morale Executive Director, Mikva Challenge
- Gia Orr, Director of Community Rights, Illinois Guardianship & Advocacy Commission
